Week of June 12th

The film festival was pretty good although some of the films were repeated many times and it was getting a bit repetitive. The films that were shown were entertaining and it was a great experience being able to see the films we worked hard on, on the big screen. Seeing the audiences involvement with the movies was great because it showed us they were really into them. It was an overall great experience.

Week of June 5th

This week we were finally able to get all shots imported from the music video we filmed. We have begun editing and are about half way done with it. We also filmed some footage for our third film but we need to re-shoot some shots because we did not like how the first couple turned out.

Week of May 29

This week we finished shooting everything we needed for our film. Two members of our group are spending time editing the movie during class time. The remaining members and I are finalizing our idea on our last movie. We pitched the third film already and after listening to Lansdown's suggestions we are trying to figure out how we are going to compress down the movie idea to fit the 5-6 minutes.

Week of May 22nd

This week we started to plan out our third movie since our current project is nearly done. We set dates to film for the music video and will be editing it meanwhile the planning is being done for the third.

Week of May 15th

This week we spent a majority of our time finalizing what we were going to film this weekend at Santa Monica Pier for our film. We came up with different scenes for our music video and then began to think about what type of shots we would be getting for those scenes. Practice for the dancing portion of the music video still went on towards the end of the period.

Week of May 1st

This week we continued to practice for our music video. Since we are doing a dance in our music video, we must practice the dance until we can dance to the song on time and smoothly. We are also planing out how we are going to be filming the dancing scenes.

Week of April 17th

This week we finalized our ideas for our second and third films. We pitched both movies and are now working on our second film. We have decided which song we are going to use for our music video. A group member is choreographing the dance with a friend. I am in the process of learning the dance because I more than likely going to be one of the dancers in the music video. On the side a group member and I are working on fighting scenes for the narrative we are filming after the music video.

Week of April 10th

This week we were getting to finishing the editing of our PSA. All we really needed was the music. I downloaded the song we were using imported it into iMovie, and fixed the volumes and fades to the song so it goes along with the PSA. I also added a little ending to the PSA, that concluded the film. I like the film we made, though there is one little part of the audio that got out of synch with the footage and it seems a bit weird. Other than that I believe we did a good job. We also started to figure out what song we are going to use for our next film, and further planned what is going to be shown while the song plays.

Week of April 3rd

This week, we started to edit the shots we filmed for our first PSA. While editing, we felt the film did not come out as planned and decided to scrap it and create a whole new PSA. We brainstormed for a new topic for the film, when we got an idea another member and I started to create storyboards for the film to know what we are going to shoot Friday after school and on Sunday. We were previously discussing an idea for the followup film, we further talked about the type of scenes we could be shooting while the editors of the PSA were editing to be more productive.

Week of March 27th

This week we went to shoot at Salt Lake Park to get raw footage for our film. I was acting for a scene in our PSA. The following day we transferred the footage from the camera into the computer and began editing what we shot to make it short enough to be the length of a standard PSA. I also searched up the picture for our production binder and wrote our production name to easily identify our binder. Meanwhile the editors of the group were editing the footage for the PSA, other members and I began to brainstorm for our second film, a documentary.

What Music Means To Me

Music is a big part of my life, I cannot go a day without listening to music. I listen to music whenever I can; when I am bored, sad, happy etc. Music is like an escape. When I get into my music I go off into my own world and enjoy what I am listening to. I like to listen to EDM and some metal/rock. I like to listen to EDM because of the beats used and the different vibes the songs give off when played. I also like to listen to metal and rock because of the lyrics that are being said throughout the songs. I can relate to some of the songs I listen to. Some of the producers I like to listen to are Noisia, Zeds Dead, and Knife Party.

Problems & Struggles

Many high school students have many problems and struggles that they have had to go through.  Although it may not seem like a person in your classroom has gone through many life changing struggles, it is likely that they have. Many many people have many obstacles they have to overcome everyday and it can take a toll on them. A big problem that can affect a student in high school a lot is a problem that is based on their family. For example, kids in high school who have to deal with child abuse within their own family, might not be the best in their class because they have a lot going on in their lives at that moment. It takes a lot to go through tough times and in the end still be the great person you are. I have not experienced this personally, but I have seen it through friends and classmates and it can really change a person.

The Most Interesting Person in the World!

One of the most interesting people I know is my grandfather. He was born and raised in Mexico. I find him very interesting because I could listen to him talk and talk for countless hours and never get bored of what he is talking about. Since I was not born and raised in Mexico, I could listen to the many stories he has from his childhood growing up in a different place. I don't spend lots of time with my grandfather but whenever I do, I enjoy every minute of it since it is always full of laughter. I have gone to Mexico with my grandparents before and I was able to see everything my grandfather would talk about and I found that really interesting.

"My Anti Drug"

I do not have a specific thing I do to keep myself from getting into trouble but there are many things I do to somewhat distance myself from getting myself in trouble in the first place. I surround myself with people who are great people that do not necessarily get themselves into trouble. Such as my family, I spend a lot of time with them whenever I am not busy. I also share a big connection not just with my immediate family, but also with my extended family. One thing I do to relieve me of stress is listening to music, it relaxes me and keeps me calm. I also like to use programs such as Ableton to mess around with different music.
